I have had many titles in my life; none describe who I am. Currently, I am semi-retired and am an avid kayaker. The love for nature and solitude is what drives me to kayak. Outside kayaking, photography, writing, and reading are what I do in my spare time.
Although I earned a B.S. degree in International Business Administration, from California State University, my lifelong study has been nature and anthropology.
I turned 18 with the U.S. Army on the S. Korea DMZ, 21 in Iran working with Bell Helicopter International, 30 in Houston while working for the IRS, 55 while kayaking the Amazon River; currently, I am 68 and hope to turn 70 while circumnavigating Florida in a sea kayak.
Little Wolf is the English translation of what my family has called me all my life; my father was simply Wolf. From my legal name come the initials “A.J.,” which is what my friends and associates call me. I am fifty- percent Native American.
My heritage is one of the reasons I decided to journey the length of the Amazon River and its tributaries; two thousand miles, I paddled alone on a kayak. I wanted to meet and see firsthand the native’s lifestyle before it disappeared along with the forest. I journaled and blogged the journey and had a broad following, mainly from the U.S.A. A book is soon to come detailing my experience on the river.
The Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddling Trail, is a 1515-mile path around Florida, it is my next challenge. Journaling and blogging are part of the plan.
