Training

Since I made the decision to paddle the 1,515 miles of the (CT)Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Paddle trail, I have started to train at the YMCA and on the water. On Thursday I went out with a potential kayak buddy for the CT. We paddled ten leisurely miles, stopping at a tiny island called Rock Island. There we watch as a man and his young daughter casting for fish in the shallows. There is a pleasure to watch a parent and a child spending quality time in nature.

Pine Island in the distance was our goal, before turning around.

Herons always look majestic as they stand still waiting for fish to come close enough to provide a meal.
